About 1969
Yield
In 1969, the average yield per hectare shows a low average of 6100 KG/HA.
Flowering
June was rainy with alternating hot and cold weather and a few hailstorms, especially on June 15 when the vineyards of Mailly, Sillery, Verzenay and Reims suffered serious damage. These climatic conditions seriously disrupted the growth of the vegetation and delayed flowering, which only started on June 17 in the best-situated vineyards.
Harvest
The 1969 harvest began on October 1. For the first time since 1959, a minimum of 9.5° was required. Due to capricious weather and poor yields, the harvest only lasted 15 days.
