About 1953
Yield
In 1953, the average yield per hectare showed a fairly low average of 5400 KG/HA.
Flowering
Due to cooling temperatures, the flower, despite a fine start, lasted more than a month, from June 6 to 23 for the Pinot Noir and Chardonnays and from June 12 to 27 for the millers. This situation led to coulure and then, in July, a very significant millerandage in many regions, which caused harvest estimates to be revised downwards.
Harvest
The harvest began with fine weather on September 15 and continued in good conditions under bright sunshine. Finely bouqueted, full-bodied, fresh, the wines will give, because of their harmonious constitution, a remarkable vintage.
